Speaking at this event:

In fast-moving information environments, political and public communication is shaped primarily by narratives that organise attention and meaning. These narratives emerge across platforms, gain momentum, and shift in response to events or strategic action. Understanding how they form and evolve is therefore central to effective political and strategic communication.

Narrative analysis focuses on identifying which themes and frames become influential, where they originate, and how they spread and change over time. By treating narratives as dynamic systems, it becomes possible to track broader patterns, moments of escalation and act on interpretation.

This type of analysis supports situational awareness in sensitive or high-pressure contexts. It helps identify emerging risks, monitor competing framings, test communication assumptions, and adapt strategies as the narrative environment changes. While most often applied in political communication, the same approach is relevant to advocacy, social issues, and other fields where public meaning is contested.
