This session presents insights from the Ukrainian alumni network of the Carl Friedrich Goerdeler Kolleg for Good Governance (Bosch Stiftung), which in October 2024 held a workshop on the psychological resilience of Ukrainians in the context of cyber and information warfare. The workshop, convened in Myhove with participants from across the Bosch Alumni Network, led to the development of a digital Practical Guide, Protection from Online Manipulation: Ukraine’s Experience in Combating Information Warfare.

The session introduces the guide and its core findings. It outlines practical tools and tactics used by Ukrainians to recognise and counter online manipulation, methods for detecting disinformation, and the social engineering techniques employed to destabilise communities. Designed for civil society actors, public sector professionals and interested citizens, the guide offers accessible, real-world strategies and aims to share Ukraine’s hard-earned expertise with an international audience.
