The politicisation of 'big tech', social media, and artificial intelligence (AI) is well documented, with the political right seemingly taking to this new battlefield much more adeptly than their opponents, and governments across the globe struggling with questions of regulation and safety versus freedom and progress.

But where do the public sit on all of this? Are certain social or demographic groups more open toward these recent technological advancements? What do regulatory, access and availability, and political neutrality demands look like among global publics? In this session, the panel will discuss a brand new YouGov paper - released ahead of the summit - looking fresh data collected on opinions and behaviours collected from almost 25,000 respondents spanning 12 countries.

The discussions will quickly open to the floor, allowing attendees to quiz the YouGov team on the paper, their research on public opinion and the intersection of politics and technology more generally, and their use of tech and data analytics tools in their work.
