This session explores how communication, mobilisation, and participation technologies can work together to strengthen citizens’ engagement in political life. It will examine the convergence of citizen participation and community organising tools across campaigns, mandates, and institutions, highlighting best practices and lessons learned. Participants will discuss how to design tools that serve both public actors and activist organisations while avoiding common pitfalls, such as vendor lock-in or poor design choices that lead to disengagement.

The session will offer a collaborative space to reflect on how civic tech can empower citizens, enhance participation, and foster stronger, more responsive democratic systems.
