Lisbeth Pilegaard is a democracy and civil society expert with over 25 years of experience in conflict-affected and developing regions. She chairs the Executive Committee of the European Endowment for Democracy and previously served as Executive Director of the Danish Institute for Parties and Democracy. Her career spans leadership roles in international NGOs, foreign policy consultancy, and gender equality initiatives, with work in more than 40 countries. She holds an MA in Rhetoric from the University of Copenhagen.
