Winning the AI Vote: How Political Voices Get Seen (or Silenced) in the Age of LLMs
13:00
Deep Dive
As voters increasingly turn to AI tools such as ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews to understand political issues, policies, and candidates, a new battleground for visibility is emerging — one that few organisations are prepared for.
In this workshop, Aris Vrakas, former Global Head of SEO at Amazon and Founder of RankBee AI, explores how large language models (LLMs) are rapidly reshaping political discovery, influence, and trust. Drawing on his experience building Amazon’s first automated marketing channel and leading global search strategy, Aris explains how AI systems decide which sources are surfaced, cited, or ignored when voters ask questions that shape democratic outcomes.
Participants will be introduced to emerging evidence showing that, in the final week before the 2024 UK general election, nearly one third of chatbot users turned to conversational AI for vote-relevant information — an early signal of how quickly AI is becoming a default source of political insight worldwide.
The session breaks down:
How AI answers and LLMs work, and how they will shape political communication over the next five years
Why traditional digital strategies (SEO, social, paid media) are no longer sufficient to secure visibility in AI-generated answers
The risks of “AI silence” for candidates, organisations, and causes that are not machine-readable, trusted, or referenced by AI systems
Through practical frameworks, real-world examples, and data-backed insights, participants will learn how political candidates, NGOs, government bodies, unions, and corporates can:
Analyse and report on campaign share of voice and credibility across major LLMs and AI Overviews
Secure visibility and credibility in AI-generated answers
Structure content, signals, and authority in ways LLMs recognise and reward
Adapt communications strategies for an AI-first information environment
This workshop equips participants with clear models and actionable strategies that can be applied immediately within campaigns, organisations, or institutions.
